Here are some pics of our good friend Nick Hobgood. Nick is landlocked in Sudan at the moment and we can only hope these make him feel just a little bit closer to the sea.
Most of the photos posted to this page were taken with a Canon 20D in an Ikelike housing with TTL connection to an Ikelite DS-125 and an Inon 2000 substrobe. I also use a Sony Cybershot P150 in a Sony housing attached to a Sea & Sea YS-25 via fiberoptic cable.

Seahorse
Back to the Basics
Phyllidia ocellata are perhaps the most ubiquitous nudibranchs in Timor. They are so common they are often overlooked or ignored, at least by UWET, in the search for more elusive nudis. For more detail on this species and links to other Phyllidia, check out the Sea Slug Forum's factsheet.

Whiskered Pipefishes
Although conditions at Dili Rock were a bit rough, Lendell and I found these two Whiskered Pipefishes at about 18 meters. The pipefishes may seem obvious in these photos, but without the aid of strobes, their colors and shapes blend in perfectly with the surrounding algae.
